Leading with purpose: How Esportes Gaming Brasil is shaping Brazil’s betting industry
Esportes Gaming Brazil has experienced impressive growth recently. What do you attribute that success to in such a competitive market?
Our growth is the result of a combination of strategic planning, deep knowledge of the Brazilian market, and a genuine commitment to user experience and responsible gaming. We invest heavily in technology, impactful marketing, and relevant partnerships, which allow us to operate with agility and precision. In addition, we have a highly qualified team that is passionate about what they do, which is clearly reflected in the results we have achieved.
What distinguishes Esportes Gaming Brazil from other operators in the region?
We are a Brazilian company that understands Brazilians — and that is one of our key competitive advantages. We know how to communicate with our audience, respecting their cultural and social particularities. In addition, we are pioneers in true brand activations in the country, with a strong presence in sports and cultural sponsorships. Our commitment to responsible gaming and operational integrity also sets us apart.
Can you talk us through the unique positioning of each of your brands in the Brazilian ecosystem? Also there are rumours of a third brand launching soon—can you give us any insight or tease what’s coming next from your portfolio?
Each brand in our group has its own identity and was designed to meet specific audience profiles within the Brazilian market. Esportes da Sorte, for example, is an established brand strongly associated with entertainment and sports, with a prominent presence in the media and major football clubs. Onabet, on the other hand, takes a more digital-focused approach, with bold initiatives and a modern tone of voice.
As for the new brand, I can say we are working on something innovative that will strategically complement our ecosystem. It’s still too early to reveal details, but the market can expect something truly surprising.
Esportes Gaming Brazil has become synonymous with cultural and sporting sponsorships—why has this been such a central part of your strategy?
We believe in the power of emotional connection between brands and people. Sports and culture are pillars of Brazilian identity, and being present in these spaces genuinely brings us closer to our audience. More than visibility, we seek relevance and purpose. And that is built through consistent presence, support for local projects, and partnerships that make sense both for the business and for the community.
In June, Esportes Gaming Brasil made its debut at the 58th Parintins Folklore Festival with an interactive project blending cultural promotion, economic development, and social responsibility. This made us the first regulated betting operator to offer institutional support to the event, which welcomes around 120,000 visitors and generates BRL 184 million in local economic activity, according to the Amazonas State Government. This cultural commitment followed Esportes Gaming Brasil sponsoring 31 São João festivals during June in 27 cities across the Northeast and Southeast regions.
What kind of feedback have you received from regulators or the community around your RG efforts?
We have been investing heavily in Responsible Gaming initiatives, both in technology and communication. The reception has been very positive, especially from regulators, who recognise our efforts to promote an ethical and secure operation. We’ve also received excellent feedback from the betting community itself, which is starting to see how a regulated environment offers greater protection and transparency for everyone — both bettors and companies.
What would success look like for you and your team over the next 18 months?
Success, for us, means continuing to grow in a sustainable and responsible way. We aim to further strengthen our brands, diversify our portfolio, and solidify Esportes Gaming Brasil as a leading example in innovation and entertainment in the country. In addition, we intend to be increasingly aligned with regulatory guidelines, contributing to the development of a healthy and promising market. Of course, we also have the upcoming launch of our latest launch which is a big moment for the business.
If there’s one message you’d like to share with players, partners, or regulators watching your progress—what would that be?
Brazil is experiencing a unique moment in the development of its regulated betting market, and we are committed to being a positive driving force in this journey. To players, we reaffirm our commitment to safety and high-quality entertainment. To partners, we offer seriousness, professionalism, and a long-term vision. And to regulators, we remain fully available to collaborate in building a strong, ethical, and sustainable industry.
