As the year begins to draw to a close, for some it’s a time of reflection and a look forward to what the new year might bring. That’s exactly what happened when Talk Gambling Founder & CEO, Ross Timmins sat down for a fireside chat with the talented Michael Polák and Matej Sopóci from SYNOT Games.
Let’s start with a little recap on 2023, how’s this year been for SYNOT Games so far?
Michael Polák, Product Manager: A very interesting question right from the start. Our company has always aimed to push ahead, which has rung true throughout 2023. Aside from expanding our team, we have allocated some time to make our processes more efficient, and of course, to improve the quality of our products that we offer to our players. There are a couple of releases lined up before the end of the year and I’m sure players have lots to look forward to.
Matej Sopóci, Online Product Manager: This year, we have focused primarily on production and its effectiveness. Since we’re releasing 2 games a month year round and we aim to keep it that way, we’ve increased the number of teams producing games. That way our players can look forward to new things more often. That said, we hold ourselves to high standards and try to make each new game at least as good as the one before.
We’ve just entered Q4. What are you looking forward to the most in this quarter, especially since it includes both Halloween and Christmas, just poised for themed slots?
Michael Polák: Yes, it is the most important time of the year and I look forward to the various campaigns we have on offer for players. There’s the Christmas-themed Xmas Secret and the cheeky Devil’s Ride at the beginning of 2024. I am just as stoked about our next Hold and Win release, as well as the stunning Egypt-themed concept, or the Viking-themed slot with beautiful graphics. Our customers sure have a lot to look forward to.
Matej Sopóci: As always, we save the best for last. We have high expectations from our December release Heaven Mania, which will remind die-hard fans of our earlier Hell Mania. Definitely try it out :-). The colourful Rio Mystery Nights is on schedule for early next year, a fun game with exciting features. I’m sure players will enjoy it, so be sure to check it out. We always strive to bring something new but also something familiar, and I believe we’re doing a good job at finding the right balance.
Operators are spoilt for choice when it comes to selecting content for their lobbies, do you have any innovative plans for the games that you’re creating, something to ensure that they stand out from the competition?
Michael Polák: We definitely want to keep doing features which have proven successful. We create megaways concepts with interesting features. We continue producing Hold and Win features, which have been very successful and currently we are prioritising our upcoming products, which include lots of innovative things.
Matej Sopóci: We always try to release something new and interesting. During production we also pay attention to the game logo, so that its color scheme isn’t too similar to that of previous game logos. It is also important to make the logo stand out among the logos of our competitors. Of course there’s a lot more that we do. I also want to take this opportunity to thank our Account Managers, who communicate with casinos and make sure games are released on time.
Talk Gambling caters to a wide demographic, can you talk us through your development process for those that might not be familiar.
Michael Polák: The development process consists of several parts. The first, and for me the most important bit, is preparation. We need to gather as much information as possible for each individual game, so that the team eventually working on it has the least trouble along the way. After that, the process for every game is pretty much the same. We draw the graphic assets, a well-thought out game logic needs to be created, we then add the graphics, come up with the math model and together we feedback the smallest details to make sure the game is successful.
Matej Sopóci: Sounds about right, I’ve got nothing to add.
Do you intend to launch SYNOT Games into any other markets in the future and are there any specific reasons for choosing them?
Michael Polák: SYNOT already covers a lot of markets, but there are still markets where we want to go. Currently we are making preparations to enter Columbia, Switzerland, USA, Canada, South America.
Matej Sopóci: I will only add that America is a completely new market. We have a couple of customers in South America, but as Michael said, we also want to expand northwards.
Do you have any plans for 2024 that you can share with us?
Michael Polák: I don’t want to go into too much detail, but big things are coming. We want to start doing other types of games than classic slots, too, but you’ll find out very soon. Some of the already finished games are set for an early 2024 release and they look great. I can definitely recommend the next rendition of the popular Aztec Jaguar, with a slightly altered look.
Matej Sopóci: Next year we want to keep releasing new games. And not just slots. Other than that, we have new player retention tools in the pipeline. I can’t make any promises yet, but rest assured, no news shall go under the radar. As soon as we’re ready, we’ll let our customers/casinos and the world know. I can’t wait!
